Facilitator In Training Program (FIT's)
The FIT program runs parallel to our Urban Transformer program. It was created to provide the alumni from our Urban Transformers program an opportunity to return and learn the skills and techniques of being youth and dialogue facilitators. While containing some theory, the program is focused on experiential learning and mentoring. The FIT curriculum is designed so that it allows the participants to practice facilitation while being supported and guided by the senior staff. This program runs alongside the Urban Transformers program and consists of a summer camp and 6 meetings over a period of 6 months.
Once the FIT's have graduated from their program, they have an opportunity to apply to be staff at Rethink Leadership. Their involvement in the organization is valued as they have a well-rounded experience of the program which adds depth and leads to the sustainability of the organization. To date, 18 FIT graduates have gone through the program and 6 of them have returned as staff members.
