Urban Transformers Program
This is the organisation's multi-faceted flagship program which is intended to engage youth on multiple levels with regards to leadership training and community-based activism. The six month long program commences with the hosting of a residential camp, with the programming primarily focussing on South African issues. The curriculum of the program is designed to engage young adults directly, by focussing on issues which are both personal and very real in the daily lives of South African youth.
The program brings 16 - 19 year olds together from different communities across the Cape Peninsula to engage in dialogue and interactive activities relating to issues of social responsibility, leadership and activism; in an environment in which participants feel comfortable and safe enough to interact with each other. The various workshops and dialogues include personal identity, war & peace, privilege, racism, racial profiling & stereotypes, HIV/AIDS, drugs, religious sharing and co-operation, interfaith collaboration, socio-economic issues and reconciliation.
The second part of the program involves a 6-month follow-up program whereby the students are brought together on a regular basis to continue the process of personal growth and group development, by engaging in community based activities and workshops. The program has been developed over the past 6 years, in an effort to constantly improve the program by catering to the needs of young South Africans.
To date, 128 participants have participated in the program, 80 females and 48 males. We have worked with 40 different schools and many different communities in the greater Cape Town community.

Urban Transformers - 6month Follow-up Program
Sustainability is central to the Re.think Leadership program. The follow-up component ensures that the investment in participants has an impact in the communities they belong to, beyond the 6 months of their involvement.
The follow-up programme will be conducted under the theme ‘Urban Transformers’. The end goal will be the initiation of a new, or the participation in an existing project that tackles a problem that each participant has identified in a community that he/she belongs to.
The main objective of the follow-up component is to facilitate the continued development of skills which the participants would have acquired during the residential program, within a suitable environment and under the guidance of the organisation.
As part of the follow-up, the participants are expected to meet fortnightly. During these meetings participants will work their way through a toolkit that has been specially designed to help the them break down the problem into manageable parts, develop strategies and find the necessary resources. At times the participants will be given homework assignments to complete during the 2-week period between meetings.
